Texting to Raise Funds
Text to Charity allows your charitable organization raise money through text message donations. Your supporters can send a text message to your keyword and donate $5 or $10 from their mobile phone bill. 100% of the funds raised are delivered to you.
How are the Funds are Distributed
A mobile phone user sends a text message to make the $5 donation to your charity using your KEYWORD. The donation is added to the user's mobile phone bill and when the funds are collected by the carrier they are forwarded to the Mobile Giving Foundation which then sends it to the charity. It takes approximately 90 days to receive funds.

- The Mobile Giving Foundation Canada serves as the “glue” between a charity, the wireless carriers and the mobile users.
- MGF-C processes applications from Registered Charities wanting to deploy mobile donations.
- Once approved, MGF-C sets mobile fundraising standards for the Registered Charities.
- Your KEYWORDS are connected to wireless carriers for SMS.
- The wireless carriers pass 100% of the charitable funds they collect through to MGF-C.
- The MGF-C remits 100% of the donation to the recipient RC within 30 days of receiving funds from the wireless carriers.
- The MGF-C charges for service and reporting directly to Text to Charity on a post-donation basis.
